weekly park clean-up program

Every Saturday we host a weekly park clean-up open to the community. Families, individuals, and groups can all join us for a morning cleaning up the picnic areas, fishing piers, beach and dunes, and trails. Our weekly park cleans allow members of the community to assist the park and then enjoy the beach once they’ve completed the cleanup. This reoccurring event is very popular amongst families and students who want to receive community service hours for school.

Come on out and join us for our weekly cleanup! Please bring along sunscreen, insect repellent, and a reusable water bottle.  We will provide buckets, trash bags, plastic gloves, and trash grabbers. Individuals under 18 years of age require adult supervision.  Please, no drop-offs.

We meet at Pavilion C-16 beach access 7 near the lighthouse. The Cleanup lasts from 9 am to 11 am. Expect a long line to enter the park. When you arrive at the park tell the Ranger on duty that you are attending the beach cleanup and they will give you directions and waive your entrance fee.

We believe that teaching stewardship for our environment and community is the best hope for the future of our parks.
