Our team of volunteers dedicate their time to conducting tours of the Cape Florida Lighthouse Tower, and Keepers Cottage to visitors, especially during the busy weekdays. Volunteers conduct lighthouse tours and open the Keepers Cottage for all visitors interested in learning about the people who tended to the Cape Florida Lighthouse while it was active, dating back to 1825! The kitchen is open for those who wish to watch the eighteen-minute film on the history of the park and the lighthouse to learn even more about the restorations and attacks it survived over the years.
Our dedicated team of volunteers also operate the gift shop area in the Keepers Cottage, allowing visitors to purchase highly desired souvenirs from their trip to Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, and their 109-step climb to the top of the lighthouse. Items include art, puzzles, postcards, tote bags, stickers, jewelry, and more. All purchases from the gift shop go to the Friends of Cape Florida.
